Choose How You Take Part

Each way of taking part has its own purpose, its own privacy terms and its own place in ECHO's work.

Participation Pathways

Each pathway has a distinct evidentiary weight and a distinct destination in ECHO's data pipeline. Choose the one that fits what you want to do.

Taking part never changes a public score on its own. Every response moves through ECHO's verification process before it can inform any published finding or public score.

  • Participate in a Study

    Used when
ECHO is conducting a defined research project with a set methodology
    Evidentiary weight
Feeds directly into a Research Project record; travels the full Submission → Verified path

Anonymity is guaranteed whenever you request it.

No study is open right now.

ECHO opens a study when a defined research project needs participants. Until then, you can take part another way.

  • Participate in an Audit

    Used when
ECHO is running a structured campus/community audit
    Evidentiary weight
Feeds a Survey/Audit record; subject to the audit's own sampling and verification rules

Anonymity is guaranteed whenever you request it.

No audit is open right now.

ECHO opens an audit when a structured campus or community audit is running. Until then, you can take part another way.

  • Report an Issue

    Used when
A student wants to flag a concern outside an active study/audit
    Evidentiary weight
An operational channel, kept clearly separate from research evidence: enters as "Reported," not "Verified"

Anonymity is guaranteed whenever you request it.

  • Get Involved

    Used when
    Volunteering, partnerships, initiatives, CAL participation
    Evidentiary weight
    Not evidentiary: an operational/participation channel

  • Explore the Evidence

    Used when
A visitor wants to see the Campus Scorecard and its evidence trail
    Evidentiary weight
Read-only; the destination for evidence, not a submission channel

Read-only: no personal information is asked for or stored.

    Explore the Evidence

  1. Choose Pathway
  2. Privacy/Consent Notice
  3. Structured Form
  4. Submit
  5. Confirmation

Behind the scenes, every submission enters the Data Pipeline and is labelled throughout with its current Evidence Status.

  • Web forms, one for each active study or audit.

  • A separate, clearly labelled Report an Issue form, kept apart from research evidence.

  • QR codes placed around campus, each linking to the pathway it belongs to.

  • Direct messages to @echostudentng on Instagram or X, which go to Report an Issue by default.

  • Street and peer-to-peer interviews, which feed structured audits offline.

Partnerships & Collaborations

Better Work Happens Together.

ECHO believes meaningful student development requires collaboration. We work with organisations, student representatives, institutions and other stakeholders where shared objectives can create greater value for students.

This principle is also embedded in ECHO's Collaboration core value and Objective 5: to collaborate, not compete, with the Student Union and other structures.
